Our Mission

To boldly pursue a greater quality of life by providing needed resources to create a better society.

Our Mission

To boldly pursue a greater quality of life by providing needed resources to create a better society.
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'  Acts 20:35 (NIV)

Who We Are

Tyrone L. & Felicia A. Newman, Founders.
The Newman Foundation is a family-based foundation with a heart to help the community God planted them in. The Newman Foundation organized in 2004 and incorporated in 2010. Our vision is to serve our most vulnerable citizens and aid in the quality of life for all. It is our responsibility to take a bold stand and become part of the solution in the rebuilding of our communities. Developing families and strengthen relationships one at a time is our mission. This vision is to be a beacon of light in a dark world. The Foundation’s vision includes two social areas of need: Food Relief and Community Partnership.

Other Programs
The Newman Foundation partners with several agencies and organizations to ensure we are doing our part to support our community. We partner with agencies, corporate America, churches and other organizations that have the common goal. We host Thelma Allen’s Supper and distribute Rufus Newman’s Blessing Bags each month to a local personal care facility. Charlene Newman’s College Support provides monthly stipends to eligible college students. Hester Powell’s Senior Feeding Program offers support strictly to our senior citizens. Did you know that more than half of Mississippi’s Seniors experience regular shortfalls in food? Lastly, through Alfreddie Powell’s African Foreign Mission we support a Christian School in Liberia West Africa that not only teaches both the young and old but also houses the students in need. They also build local churches in the communities that surround the school.
